Straight answers to the questions we hear most. No fluff.
We start with a conversation — either by phone or email. We want to hear about your household, your experience with dogs, and what you're looking for in a Catahoula. If it feels like a good fit, we take a deposit to hold your place. From there, you'll get updates as the puppies grow, and at eight weeks your pup is ready to go home. No mystery. No pressure.
Our puppies are priced between $1,500 and $2,500, depending on the litter and the individual pup. That price includes vaccinations, deworming, a microchip, health records, and registration papers. We don't hide fees. What we quote is what you pay.
Yes. We coordinate transport across the U.S. — ground, cargo, or flight nanny depending on distance. We've also shipped internationally to families in Canada, the UK, Europe, and Australia. You're also welcome to come pick up your puppy here in Louisiana. We encourage it.
Catahoulas are smart — sometimes too smart for their own good. They need consistency, clear boundaries, and positive reinforcement from day one. Early socialization is critical. These are working dogs; they do best with a job, whether that's obedience, agility, herding, or just a structured daily routine that keeps their mind busy.
We feed high-quality, protein-rich food with real meat as the first ingredient — no corn, no soy, no filler. When you take a puppy home, we'll send you with a bag of what they've been eating and detailed feeding instructions. You don't have to guess.
At least an hour of solid exercise every day — running, hiking, swimming, or structured work. A tired Catahoula is a happy Catahoula. A bored one will redecorate your house. If you're not active, this probably isn't the breed for you, and we'll tell you that upfront.
They can be excellent family dogs — loyal, protective, and affectionate — but they're not a Golden Retriever. Catahoulas need structure, training, and an owner who understands working breeds. They do best in active households where they're included as part of the family, not left in the backyard. With kids, early socialization makes all the difference.
With proper care, 10 to 14 years is typical. We've known Catahoulas who lived well into their teens. Good nutrition, regular vet visits, and keeping them lean and active go a long way. We health-test our breeding dogs so you're starting with the best odds.
Blue merle, red merle, brindle, solid coats, patched patterns, white trim, leopard spotting, tan points — the variety is part of what makes this breed so striking. No two Catahoulas look exactly alike, and we don't breed for a single look. Temperament and health come first. The coat is a bonus.
We're not hard to reach. Call, email, or fill out the contact form — we'll get back to you.
